The Process of Pet Microchipping

Microchipping is a quick and painless procedure that can be performed during a regular veterinary visit . Our skilled veterinarian, Dr. Daughtry, has extensive experience in microchipping and will ensure your pet’s comfort throughout the process. Here’s an overview of the procedure:
Preparation
Your pet will be gently held, and the area for microchipping, usually between the shoulder blades, will be cleaned and sterilized.

Insertion
Using a specialized needle, the microchip is inserted just beneath the skin. Your pet may feel a slight pinch, but the discomfort is minimal.

Verification
Once the microchip is in place, Dr. Daughtry will scan the area with a microchip scanner to confirm proper placement and functionality.

Registration
After the procedure, we will guide you through registering your pet’s microchip with your contact information in a national pet recovery database. This ensures that if your pet is found, they can be traced back to you.
